I am interested in biking the trail on Labor Day weekend. Wondering what I can expect with the weather? Have you traveled on the trail previously on that weekend? Also, how crowded is it that weekend?

Thanks for info!

Labor Day 2016, My brother and I took the train w bikes from STL to Sedalia, camped at the Sedalia fairgrounds. Shuttled to Clinton the next morning and rode west to east. B&B w Jerry/Katy Junction in Pilot Grove first night - excellent. Turner Katy Trail Shelter Hostel in Tebbetts second night-interesting. Picked up the train back to STL in Hermann due to bike breakdowns.
Very hot in the direct sun, shade is great, bring water, these stretches were really not crowded at all over Labor Day. Rocheport - Easley was the busiest stretch for this route.

St. Charles to Augusta is usually the most crowded stretch.
Safe travels.

As PTM mentioned, the weather is still quite warm at Labor Day. Thunderstorms are always a possibility, so be prepared.

As far as crowds, you easily have 10X more people traversing the St. Charles-to-Augusta segment than anywhere else on the Katy. Labor Day would be no exception.
