How are the fall colors coming along around the Rocheport area?

LK (local knowledge) from Columbia on 10/9/2015 9:05:03 AM:
Maples are starting to pop. Nice time to be out and about.

What percent of peak would your local knowledge indicate LK?

LK (local knowledge) from Columbia on 10/9/2015 1:29:42 PM:
Hard to say a percentage. I have driven by stands of hard maple today that looked like the picture on the home page of this website. Other maples have only begun to turn. Yet others already have falling leaves. If I wanted to catch the peak, I'd plan on getting out and about in the coming week.

Yet, you claim knowledge.

This is a quote from the MDC website for fall colors in Missouri. "The peak of fall color in Missouri is usually around mid-October. This is when maples, ashes, oaks, and hickories are at the height of their fall display. Normally by late October, the colors are fading and the leaves beginning to drop from the trees."

Drove 94 from JC to Tebbetts today. Lots of color on the bluffs but I'd say the peak will be sometime next week.

We were on the trail Oct 11-15. Loved the foliage but heard it is an "off year" due to weather conditions. Sumac very prominent, some maple, few oak, they were still green and some were brown.
