Is anyone interested in joining me on a mid-June trip on the Katy? I would be leaving Clinton and going to Augusta with a return trip to Clinton with an estimated average of about 40-60 miles a day with ample time for sites or local wineries. I am planning on tenting much of the time with an occasional nights lodging along the way. As a school teacher I fill my summers with "memory makers" and this year will certainly be a grand adventure.....

Stellar, I have to ask the obvious: why do an Apollo 10? Why turn around in Augusta instead of making it to Machens to say you did the whole trail? Or have you already done that?

Absolutely! I get through the long and cold winter days of Kansas by just thinking and planning all the warm weather bike trips of summer....

Stellar fellar, did you get any takers to ride with you? I personally cannot at that time, but we are transplants here from Wichita and know lots of bikers who might be able to make mid-June work. I've ridden the whole trail twice now and am planning a women-only trip with my Wichita friends in September. Let me know if you'd like to continue this discussion off this site.
