A friend and I are interested in driving from Tulsa to hike the MKT for a couple of days around the Boonville or Rocheport area in mid-October. Is the trail wide enough to easily accommodate hikers as well as bikers? I'd hate to feel in the way!
Thanks,
Suzanne

Suzanne, there is plenty of room. Most of the trail is about the size of a lane and a half gravel road. Look at a few of the many Katy Trail videos on YouTube to get a feel for the trail.

Suzanne, if you've hiked any at Turkey Mountain the KATY is much wider than those trails so hikers meeting bikers is not a problem.

Plenty of room for everyone to use and enjoy the Trail. On many parts of the Trail, there are often as many or more folks walking on the Trail then are biking. On portions of the west portion of the Trail, there are also horses allowed on the Trail.
