Two weeks after confirming my reservation they emailed me and stated they would not be able to honor my reservation. They offered no other explanation.

Try The Frederick Hotel. I've stayed there twice. You won't be disappointed. Right on the Missouri River, and Katy Trail goes right by it.

High Street Victorian is pretty nice and is close to the river too.

We stayed while biking the Katy trail. It is just a few hundred yards from the trail, but not easy to find. They are working on better signage but are hindered by government red tape. The mansion is awesome, and you will learn some of the history. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfy. The bathroom needs some updating but again, they said they are working on that too. For breakfast Joe did the cooking and Donn was the entertainment as he visited with us all through the meal telling stories about the building and grounds. It is not as close to restaurants for dinner as they suggest, it took us 30 minutes to walk back over the bridge to a restaurant. We didn't want to ride our bikes because we would be riding them back in the dark. There was a taxi service though that returned us to the house for $10.

We stayed at Rivercene this week on a shortened Katy ride (due to heat and scheduling). I have been interested in this place for over 40 years -- since I first walked its property in the late 70's after the Flood of '73. Wow, so much history and so much to look at inside and outside the building. Joe and Don are excellent hosts and the rooms were impeccably clean and maintained. Joe fixed a breakfast that was over the top and prepared us for another long day of riding. But with so much history to reveal, we were kind of wanting to stay another day just to explore. We liked this place enough that we are trying to plan a small family get-together there this fall.

This is an amazing place. Stayed one night here while biking the Katy Trail and enjoyed it immensely. Being able to see the inside of this mansion which the current owners have furnished with appropriate period pieces including old photos of the mansion is so interesting. Add to that a gourmet breakfast and a chance to meet a descendent of the original builder of the home. An unforgetable experience.

I just got home from my first trip on the Katy. We decided at the last minute to stay at the Rivercene and are sooo glad that we did. Quiet and beautiful with fantastic breakfast. I can't wait to do this again.

Beautiful B&B--the entire mansion is amazing and for the price well worth the experience. Easy ride from the trail and into town--I highly recommend staying here if you want a truly wonderful experience.

Bed and Breakfast is off the beaten path and away from town. You have to drive through an asphalt plant to get there. The mansion is beautiful, but in need of repairs and upkeep, but the rooms were fine.

Stayed in the Scarlett O'Hara suite, which is overpriced, but the room and jacuzzi tub were a nice retreat after a day of riding.

Staff was friendly and attentive.

After traveling all day on the Katy Trail, we enjoyed feeling like royalty in the Rivercene. The rooms were beautiful and cozy. The breakfast was amazing! She cooked the best omelets we've ever had. The history behind the house is just so amazing. I would recommend it to anyone. Also, the casino will come pick you up in a van and take you to the town...which was nice. We didn't want to get back on our bikes!

My husband and myself stayed at the Rivercene along with our dear friends the last weekend in July. It was the most incredible feeling being in that mansion. We absolutely loved it. We had never stayed in a B&B before so, we were very excited about going there. We were not disappointed and I look forward to returning again within the next year for another delightful stay. I highly recommend Rivercene if you want to relax and not worry about the pressures of everyday life. It was very peaceful and warm. The breakfast was delicious and the history of the magnificent mansion will tug on your heart strings.

Once again, four of us stayed at Rivercene and loved it. It really takes you back in time, and the rooms are huge and comfortable. It's easy to get to, (just off the north end of the bridge) so riding to dinner at Glenn's (at the other end of the bridge) was a snap. Great dinner at Glenn's at Hotel Frederick.

If you are looking for a B&B don't miss this place. It is easy to get to, the host is nice and the house has quite a history!

We stayed there in 1998 with the previous owners and it was awesome. The history, gorgeous room, and fantastic breakfast was worth the price. We stayed in the huge Kate Kinney nursery suite- plenty of room for 4 of us.
