"This cow had escaped from her field. She wouldn't let me near her and I couldn't pass her without making her run down the trail, away from the entrance to her field. So I waited. I waited for the cow to come home." - Bill Keaggy

The Pilot Grove B&B in town is open for business, just a block from the trail – pay no attention to the For Sale sign. As we walked the trail we stayed here two nights. Dolores picked us up at Clifton City the first afternoon, and Virgil returned us there the next morning so we could walk to Pilot Grove. Our second night they graciously invited us to their home outside town for dinner, since only Casey’s was open. We talked about the many bikers (and a few walkers) who had stayed with them, and Virgil gave us an interesting tour of their farm. If you’re looking for delicious meals, a comfortable home, a VERY reasonable price and hosts who go way beyond what is expected, you’ll love this B&B. We’re looking for reasons to return to Pilot Grove.
