Augusta Winery (Augusta)

We made this our final town to stop at on our trip from st. charles, through augusta. We went to the Augusta winery based on a review off this site. I want to affirm everything good about it. The ladies that ran the place were exceptional. We rolled in right before close and they still let us taste. On top of that, we had no idea the only place to get groceries closed at 6:00 in augusta, and they were so helpful and hospitable while we continually came back after hours asking questions of where we could get food. They even went out of their way to make a sale after their store and register was closed. A+++++++

Great winery to visit. The lady behind the counter was very patient and extremely helpful with our tasting. She explained different things with the wines. Without a doubt you have to visit this winery if you visit any of them. It may be a little smaller than the others but I think that is what helps the charm. The Ice Wine is wonderful.

This was a fun place to visit and within walking distance from "down town" Augusta. The staff was friendly. We didn't visit the other wineries because they were on the highway, or we had to back further to get to them and we were too hot to bike anymore that day. The wine was pretty good too!

Do not visit Augusta without going to AUGUSTA WINERY. I repeat, do not miss this winery. Sure, it is very small and crowded but possesses a unique charm. You will not find a better bang for the buck anywhere in Missouri Wine Country. They also have great case sales. Their Norton is one of the best.

Another good 'un. Very nice staff and some very nice Norton. If you have a sweet tooth, give the ice wine a whirl. You might need insulin, tho.
