 Directions: Take Hwy. 100 west for about two miles from the city limits to Frene Creek Road. Turn left onto Frene Creek Road and watch for the entrance on the left.

I've never been on the Katy Trail but plan to ride it this spring.
Can anyone tell me if it has a lot of hills, especially around the
Hermann area. Also, are there bike trails leading to the different wineries in that area.

We're planning on riding the trail near Hermann in mid-April. Two questions: which way (east or west) is prettier/nearer the river? and starting from Hermann is it safe to cycle the highways to the nearby wineries?

Hotel or Inn With Shuttle or Other Options Read/reply

Hi...we would like to try to base ourselves in one hotel for 2 nights. Our thought is that we could do long bike rides from each direction but not have to doubleback. Then we are hoping the hotel (or other shuttle service) would pick us up each day...

Great wine and friendly staff. I frequently drive way out of my way to buy wine there, and I have visited all the Hermann wineries, but this is the only one I ever go back to. The Riefenstahler is outstanding!
