I am sad to share the news that Damon Cruce has passed away. Cruces Cabooses in Calhoun/Windsor is closed. Hopefully Damon's estate will be able to sell the business to someone who is interested in keeping the cabooses open.

I stayed at Cruces Cabooses with my family a few years back and loved it. It was a fun and memorable experience.

Damon was a great guy and he will be missed.

Damon was a very nice host when my brother and I stayed 2 or 3 years ago. The cabooses are a fun concept, but too far off the trail for my liking.

Sad news indeed. We had a reservation that I was trying to get changed to another day when we pass through in 2 weeks. I had a nice chat with him a few months back and was looking forward to our stay.
