I am planning to ride the Katy from Sedalia to St. Charles. I was going to take Amtrak but they cant accomodate my bike/no more bike slots available. Ive also checked with Greyhound. Does anyone have any solutions for how to get my bike from St. Charles back to Lawrence ks? Thx!

It would be helpful if you indicated the time of your trip, how many were in your group. I live near the trail and would help those in need, if possible, but would not want to commit to something I could not provide without more details.

Plan your trip with Amtrak availability.

Have the bike shop in St. Charles box it up and send it to Lawrence.

Box your bike and send it as freight instead of a roll on.

My wife and I are planning to do the same route. We were thinking about renting an SUV from Enterprise located on Hwy 94 between St. Charles and Cottleville to carry the bikes and our gear back to Sadalia. Looks like there's a couple relatively safe routes to ride a bike along residential streets from the trail up to the Enterprise rental.
