Planning to stay at the Tebbetts shelter next week. Two questions:

1. I've seen mention in this forum that there are now some blankets on hand there. Still true?

2. Is the nearby bar (where one can order a burger and fries) still open Wednesdays through Sundays?

Was by the shelter yesterday and there were just a couple of sheets in the cabinet. If you give email me the date you're going to be there and I'm available I'll see that you have bedding. My email is Jcirwin1980@gmail.com.

As for the bar, it appears that they have closed again. There was no signage on the door and one of the locals said he thought they were going to reopen mid-October.

Verified today that the bar and restaurant both are closed until at least mid-October.

Thanks for the update. I have removed the bar from the Tebbetts listings until we hear of a re-opening.

Jim, I'm now planning to press on past Tebbetts to Jeff City, so no need for blankets in the shelter. I think I'd rather have the pain of the extra miles than stay in the shelter. But thank you so much for your kindness. Happy riding!

I stopped by for ice on saturday 09/16 and Tebbetts Shelter was clean and bright!
