First time on the Katy Trail, did a little research for camping, found Katy roundhouse. Anyone camp there before? We reserved online, but a little nervous, no site assigned said come on in. Its a holiday weekend (Labor Day)2017 I hate to get there and no camping available. Looking forward to trail. 2 days 1 day each direction. Anything we shouldn't miss? Thanks!

They are pretty good at running their business, so I would not worry too much. The good thing about non-RV camping is that there's always a way to squeeze in a few more tents. The Katy Roundhouse tent sites are very generous in size, so don't sweat it.

The Roundhouse is awesome! If you need supplies or a sandwich - Snoddy's store is a great stop. They are just past where you come off the bridge from Boonville and on the other side of the road. They are a grocery/hardware/clothing/deli store. If Snoddyls doesn't have it- you don't need it!

Have fun! And - I wouldn't worry about not being able to find a place to camp. It's a big place and is almost never full.

This comment too late for the OP but we just rode through there. Recommend riding to Rocheport to eat at the Meriwether Cafe and Bike Shop. Also heard others had enjoyed live music at the Rocheport General Store. This is a nice destination for campers at the Katy Roundhouse campground.
