So we recently rode from Sedalia to Washington (my three teenaged boys and me) and took Amtrak back. We had wonderful lodging along the way and wanted to pass on the ideas. We stayed in Boonville the first night at an AirBnB called "Roseheart" with a fellow named John. Very affordable to have the whole second floor to ourselves. Nothing fancy, an old house with character, but just right for us. We stayed at a warmshowers host home in Columbia which was wonderful as they left us snacks and drinks in a cooler and fed us dinner and breakfast. We spent our third night at the Katy Turner Shelter in Tebbetts and there was only one other family there. It was very basic but comfortable and very inexpensive! Our 4th night was spent at Joey's Birdhouse B&B in McKittrick which I can't recommend highly enough. Clean, comfortable, great breakfast and affordable and right off the trail.
