Abandoned trailers and broken down rvs. Only 4 sites available because junk fills the other sites. Bathroom and shower are in the office area, otherwise you use a portajohn. It is a good location for trailhead parking, then head West to Huntsdale and eat at the NEW and CLEAN Station House right on the trail.

What's wrong with Cooper's Landing? I have always had a pleasant time there. Good service, great music, good thai & breakfast and good views of the river.

Sounds like it just wasn't your cup of tea. I absolutely LOVED it there! Lots of character, kind of place I could let my 6 year old run around and be a kid without worrying. It was nice and clean and cozy. But no, it isn't an expensive 'high-class' place.

My husband and I were there last week as well. It was great that we could get a good meal along the trail and spend the night after having ridden 66 miles that day! But, while we weren't expecting 5 star accommodations, the shower did gross me out a bit - I really didn't need to shower with everyone else's old soap bottles, foot files, razors, and mesh shower poufs.

We had also camped at both the Sedalia fairgrounds and the Hermann City Park which were both clean and had nice shower facilities.
