Imagine the biggest pancakes you've ever seen. Now multiply that by a factor of three. Still, not quite there. These were enormous! And my breakfast buddy ordered TWO! He didn't realize that the cook emphasized "pan" (size) over "cake" (material). My friend is 6'5" and he could only eat 1/3 of the portion given. And often, size will dominate the attention at the cost of diminished quality. Not here. Though huge, the pancakes were still very, very good (I was recruited- all of us were - to help trim the amount left behind). This is a great stop for a morning re-fuel but I suggest you'll be fine with just one pancake. Hope this doesn't affect the Trailside's bottom line by reducing the number of pancakes ordered. The local guests were friendly and inviting and thank you, Brenda, for the great tour of the Shrine; a trip highlight, and we will light a candle for you.

Just one question, I am old and maybe I missed it, but where is this place located? As I said I probably missed it!:)

I agree with Joe, where is this pancake mecca? I will be riding the trail mid June and would like some large pancakes. Where is Trailside?

Sorry, a "newbie" mistake: trying to add to a previous discussion but made a new line, instead. This is the Trailside in Rhineland. Another tip for biggest burger: The Mokane Bar and Grill in Mokane. Skip the thought of the chef salad. I don't think they have much of a call for it there. The hamburgers are enormous. Don't order a double. And you know what? They were really, really good.

Thanks Kerry. Looking forward to stopping at both places.
