For those of you wondering what is going on with the trail east of St Charles, I found this St Charles County website: http://www.sccmo.org/1512/Road-Other-Closures---Flood
Since Wiedy (Wiedey?) Road is marked impassable and runs inside the Missouri River levy, I don't think the trail will open till after the road does...if then.

So are you saying that it would be impossible to ride from St. Charles to Machines then to finish the trail?

The Missouri State Parks Trail Conditions page is a good resource before heading out. There is an advisory section with flood damage reports.
