My 8 year old daughter and I drove from Pleasant Hill down to Chilhowee and rode back north about 6 miles. We found that section of the trail to be well established and easily traveled. Chilhowee's parking lot is huge and very nicely done. It would be nice if it had some restroom facilities, but it is still nice. Has anyone ridden the entire route from P. Hill to Windsor? I can't wait for them to finish the bridge under 7 highway at P. Hill to connect the trail to downtown.

Yes. If you visit the MO PAC/Rock Island at Pleasant Hill Facebook page you'll see a post form a gentleman that rode the entire route and back on Sunday, Nov. 6

Our web wizard, Ray set up a website for the Rock Island trail,
www.bikeRockIsland.com. I believe he has a link from this website.

I can't get the MORIT Facebook page to come up, even from the link on the BikeRockIsland page. I'd really like to read the report from the guy that rode the trail on Nov 6th, as I am thinking about trying it next week. Any help would be appreciated as I am reading conflicting stories about whether Windsor to Pleasant Hill is OK to ride. I even called MO Parks and they did not know for sure.

Check out this FB page https://www.facebook.com/groups/1568467786805033/
as it has updated trail reports. Looks like someone has ridden the entire way from PH to Windsor, with a slight detour. I'm hopefully going this coming Sunday to PH with the intent of riding about halfway to Windsor and back.

Don-the trail is open to users from P. Hill to Windsor as long as it doesn't interfere with work. There should be nothing going on over the weekend, so you should be okay. If you start at Pleasant Hill, there is still no bridge connecting downtown with the rest of the trail. Come here on 7 highway then go east about a mile on 58. Go South on Purvis Road a few miles until you see a trail parking lot. Head east/south from there. This will give you all but a mile or so of the entire route.

Roger and John, thanks a bunch. The directions will be very helpful! I am one of those guys who wants to be among the first to explore a new area. If I was born 200 years earlier, I would have talked my way into the Lewis & Clark expedition. :) If I do ride, I will give a detailed report here and on the BikeRockIsland site.
