New to the great Katy Trail, I'm wondering the better campgrounds where I could park a small trailer year long to get 8-9 months of bike time an other months jog or walk. All comments welcomed. Thanks.

It depends what you are looking for. I stayed at following campgrounds in Oct 2016. Sedalia Fairgrounds campground, 660-530-5600, is about .5 miles from the trail and in town. The campground is fenced. Katy Roundhouse campground & RV park in New Franklin, 660-848-2232, is right on the trail and between Booneville and Rocheport. Steamboat Junction Campground in Bluffton, 660-530-5600, is in the middle of nowhere. I could not get any cell phone service so people were concerned when I did not check that night. There were no bike racks on the property. They had a single shower building (nice) and a porta potty.
There are others on the along the trail. Out of the three campgrounds I would select Katy Roundhouse because you are right on the trail and near enough to town services.

Most of the locations mentioned are closed during the winter months.
