Taking Amtrak to Sedalia and heading East. Rode trail last year same way, but kind of rushed it and did not get to take time to enjoy the scenery.

Anyone have any recommendations as far as best towns to go through or begin-end suggestions?

I need an Amtrak end-point, so I'm thinking Jeff City or Hermann.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I will be hammock camping when possible.

If you haven't been to the old catholic church at Starkenberg, it's worth the trip. About 2 miles up the hill near Rhineland.
