Jeff & I would like to thank all of our customers for the past 15+ years of business. We have sold our bed and breakfast to Ken & Melissa Stevens. Their information should be updated soon. In the meantime, you can reach Melissa at 573-236-4188, or 636-262-4219. Please wish them the best of luck as they start their new adventure. Thank you again for your business. It was truly a pleasure getting to know all of you!
Sincerely,
Amanda Schaefer

I am so glad this B & B will continue to serve the Katy Trail. I do have a question for Amanda and/or the new owners: my husband and I are trying to sell a 90 year old building across the street from the Missouri State Penitentiary (MSP) in Jefferson City. How do we get the word out to people who are looking for an opportunity to open a B & B? This would be a great place for Katy Trail bicyclists to spend 1-2 nights in Jefferson City, tour MSP, visit the MSP museum (which is moving to one house east of ours), bicycle less than a mile to the Capitol and leisurely tour the art there, and enjoy Jefferson City's wonderful downtown. Our building was completely renovated in 2003 and would not need a lot of adjustment to be a B & B. If anyone is interested, or can direct me to the best websites to post our building on, call 573-690-1919. Thanks. Cathy

Hi! I am not sure what is the best way. Posting here like you did is a great start. Do you have a realtor? I think that is also a great idea, as they have several resources to spread the word. Good luck-sounds fun!

http://www.bedandbreakfast.com/ may be a resource for you Cathy. It's a great place to find B&B's and they list property for sale by state. I'm not sure if it has to be a legit business or they also list potential property for those looking. It may be worth your time checking out though.

Thanks for the ideas Amanda and Trek. After 4-16-15 I will be putting up flyers at the Katy Trail Trailheads. But in the meantime if anyone is interested we have a listing on Zillow, where photos are posted. The address is 718 E. Capitol Ave in Jefferson City. We are across the street from MSP, we are an easy ride to the Capitol, onto the pedestrian/bike bridge over the MO River and to the Katy Trail. Last year over 25,000 people toured MSP. That will only increase. If someone put a B & B here they can benefit from MSP tourists as well as Katy Trail Bicyclists.
