I am considering a two-day ride from Clinton to St. Charles, perhaps to Machens this year. My pick weekend is October 22-23. This will make for two challenging days. I'm looking for anyone out there who is interested in joining me on this ride. I haven't decided between an overnight in Hartsburg, which may result in some chartered tent camping, or Jefferson City, which could be tents or one of the hotels there, for an extra 4 miles round trip off the trail. If interested, post a reply.

Another option would be to push on to Tebbetts the first day. That would make for a long first day but you will appreciate the short second day. You would also have a hot shower and a bed for $5 at the Turner Shelter.

An dealing with the packs of dogs at Tebbetts too.

I'm in the Tebbetts trailhead area 2 or 3 times a week and its been a few years since I've seen a pack of dogs there. Not saying there is not a pack - just that I haven't seen them.

Could you do it in a single day earlier in the year, SAG supported?

Personally, I am not one who could do it in one day. That's 237 miles, and the chat is a lot harder than the road. Though many people claim to have done it.
