My husband and I wanted to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary biking the Katy Trail in Rocheport (which is what we did on our first date). I looked for a B&B on Trip Advisor and found School House B&B. I chose it based on reviews and location. I was glad I did. We brought our own bikes (from St. Louis). We arrived late, but it wasn't a problem. I let the owners know in advance we would be arriving later, and they left us our key, and a detailed note on how to get into the bike shed to lock up our bikes. They have a locked shed in the back of the property. It was very convenient. It even has an air compressor for airing up your tires and some tools for working on your bike if needed. The inn is located about 2 blocks from the trailhead. It was very easy to access. We biked 17 miles into Columbia to eat lunch (we enjoyed our meal at The Flat Branch Pub near the end of the trail in Columbia). We then biked back to the inn, making a stop at Les Bourgeois Winery on the way.

I would recommend bringing a cable lock to lock your bike up at the restaurant, and especially if you plan to go to the winery. We locked our bikes at the bottom of the hill (about ½ mile uphill climb, but worth it for the views over the bluff down to the Missouri River).

The inn itself was fantastic. It was incredibly clean and the owners were very nice and friendly. We ate 2 breakfasts there, and they were both delicious. Our room was the Hide and Seek room, which is the only room on the lower level. It was very quite and private down there. It had free WiFi, a TV/DVD player (there is a bookshelf full of DVDs on the 2nd floor), a private shower and bathroom, and a mini fridge, and a very comfortable king sized bed. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to others.
