Hi all!
I am looking to thru-hike the Katy Trail sometime in September and hoping to continue it into a cross-state hike. Getting from St. Louis to the easternmost trailhead is obviously going to be easy. However, there doesn't seem to be a lot of information about the expansion of the trail from Windsor to Kansas City, only that it is currently underway. So my question is this: Does anyone know if this expansion reaches KC? Or, is there any other sufficient hiking to complete this last leg from either Clinton or Windsor?

I just biked the trail (round trip, actually) and met some other bikers that rode from KC to Clinton - although I'm not sure of their path, it may have been on roads. Unfortunately the expansion might be "under way" for years if not longer. I met about 10 people doing a thru-bike but only 1 thru-hiker, and he told me he wished he had his bike.
