Is there a place we can park our car at Sedalia Amtrak and leave it there for 3 nights without any problems and is it free parking?

KG from Little Rock on 7/31/2015 9:42:59 AM:
did you find a place to park, I am wondering the same thing for trip in October.

I recommend parking at the community college in Sedalia, near the Sate Fairgrounds. Security patrols, cameras, etc: One of the security guargps who works there told me about that a few years ago, and I have done it (without incident) several times now.

thanks so much for the tips! I'm super nervous as I haven't been biking as much as I would like this year but plan on doing this ride anyway!

I am not familiar with Sedalia, but keep in mind that the Missouri State Fair will be in Sedalia 8/13/15 - 8/27/15. That might affect parking in Sedalia during that time.

Hubby and I parked at the Sedalia Amtrak station while we did a 3 day ride (Sed to Bville - Bville to JC - JC to Herman), then took Amtrak back from Herman to Sedalia. We didn't have any trouble leaving it there. If you leave it somewhere else, just keep in mind if you take the train that leaves late afternoon it could be dark when you arrive in Sedalia, then you may have to bicycle to where you left your vehicle after dark (depends on what time of year).

MAH, that is a really good point especially for an October rider, thanks!
