Hi,
I am planning a trip on the Katy Trail and staying in B & Bs. My question is about where cash is needed. If we stop for lunches along the way, should we plan on bringing cash to eat and some of the non-chain places? or do most places accept credit cards. Thanks!

We took both. Used CC for B & B and cash for lunches. Most places do take CC.

Definitely take both cash and credit cards. Some B&Bs do not take cards, but will accept checks; just call ahead and ask. Most restaurants take credit cards, though.

And bring a bunch of quarters. If you run low on water you may come across vending machines that have bottled water. And I agree with previous posters, bring cash, CFCs and call ahead to b & BSA and see what they take. Enjoy your ride.
