So far the event looks something like this:

Friday Oct 17, BBQ at Turner Shelter 7:00 pm(donations please)

Saturday Oct 18, riding from Bluffton to Mokane for lunch at the Mokane Bar & Grill @ 1:00 pm. Ride back to Bluffton for possible BBQ in Bluffton @ 7:00 pm.

Sunday Oct 19, ride to Hermann for lunch at Concert Hall & Barrel 1:00pm. Ride back to Bluffton and head for home.

I will be seeking donations for the Wounded Warrior Project at each phase of the get together.

MidSouth from Rogersville, MO on 8/23/2014 11:47:21 AM:
Anyone planning to stay at the Rendleman Home B&B that weekend should get your reservations in pretty soon...

sharonbikes from Kansas City on 8/24/2014 8:33:44 PM:
We will probably be looking to camp - will he still let folks pitch a tent out in the yard? We will be there Saturday night.

Sharon

MidSouth from Rogersville, MO on 8/24/2014 11:13:51 PM:
Yes, you can camp at Doug's. Just go to his site and reserve a campsite.

Anonoh on 8/26/2014 9:02:32 AM:
Good timing since it looks like bridge work is to start Oct 22 in the ride area.

sharonbikes from Kansas City on 8/27/2014 7:57:05 PM:
We are camping at Rendlman's Saturday night - hope we have gorgeous weather! How many are coming? Do we know yet?

MidSouth from Rogersville, MO on 8/27/2014 8:53:04 PM:
There have been a few show interest so far! Really need to get your paid reservations in at the Rendleman Home even if camping. Oktoberfest is just down the trail in Hermann during this time frame and rooms and campsites wont last long.

sharonbikes from Kansas City on 8/28/2014 8:19:07 PM:
We have our reservation in to camp at Rendleman's! Looking forward to meeting folks.

MidSouth from Rogersville, MO on 8/28/2014 8:25:50 PM:
Looking forward to it also...we should be able to solve all the worlds problems while we are there!

Paul Toigo from Kansas City on 8/29/2014 7:54:30 PM:
We'll be 11 miles downstream enjoying Oktoberfest in McKittrick/Hermann. We'll pass by Blufton sometime on Sunday on our way to Jefferson City. Be sure to waive as we pass each other.

Anonoh on 9/1/2014 10:10:07 AM:
Paul, could you possible stop and sign some autographs for being one of just a few who have ridden the KT in a single day?

Paul Toigo from Kansas City on 9/1/2014 10:18:08 AM:
lol. Absolutely. Happily, I won't be riding for time (other than to catch the train) and will be enjoying the KATY as it should. That includes chatting with other riders.

ArkyKenny on 10/11/2014 8:47:14 AM:
Are we still on for this? I plan to be in Bluffton Sat morning. Early reports on the weather are good.

MidSouth from Rogersville, MO on 10/11/2014 10:36:44 AM:
Yes we are on! I won't be able to do much actual riding, going in for a stress test. But, still plan to do all the get togethers. I will be stopping at Tebbets Friday evening for awhile and then heading for the Rendleman Home in Bluffton.

Jason from Tonganoxie on 10/11/2014 6:48:02 PM:

MidSouth from Rogersville, MO on 10/12/2014 2:25:45 PM:

1. Friday evening - we will meet & greet at the P4 Pub & Grub next to the Turner Shelter.

3. Saturday evening - we will have a BBQ and bonfire at the Rendleman Home in Bluffton.

We are planning on being at Rendleman's Saturday night - the rest of the weekend is up in the air until I find out about my Saturday morning commitment which probably won't be until Wednesday. Do we need to bring food to share for Saturday night?

Sharon

MidSouth from Rogersville, MO on 10/12/2014 7:27:37 PM:
You don't need to bring food, but would appreciate a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project. Weather is looking great at the moment!

Anonoh on 10/13/2014 7:36:11 AM:
Cant make it. Going to Cards-Giants NLCS game Oct 18 (if they are still in it) and then Oct 19 picking up a new puppy for the wife in Springfield, MO. Have a great time and "ride on".

Jim from St Thomas on 10/16/2014 9:06:00 AM:
What time are you planning to be at the Pub & Grub? I had thought about grilling some hot dogs and hamburgers at the Turner Shelter but I've been told the Starkenburg pilgrimage folks will have the shelter filled so I think grilling is out.

Sharonbikes from Kansas City on 10/16/2014 1:19:41 PM:
We will be there Friday night. Thanks for the heads up about the folks at the shelter.

Sharon

MidSouth from Rogersville, MO on 10/16/2014 1:51:51 PM:
Thanks Jim, it looks like there will only be a few of us Friday so no need to grill. I will probably get to the Pub & Grub about 7pm. I have never caught it open when staying at the shelter in the past.

Mimi and Papa from Springfield, Mo. on 10/16/2014 2:21:29 PM:

Mid-South's Annual KT Ride I was a huge success for us! We had a great time and it was so nice to be able to put faces with names and get together in person. Doug Rendleman was a great host. Thanks Mid-South for organizing it! (What do you think of the name I have coined for the first of what I hope will be many more annual rides!)

Sharon

MidSouth from Rogersville, MO on 10/20/2014 4:00:27 PM:
It was great to meet some of the forum posters last weekend! There was a few of us at the P4 Pub & Grub in Tebbetts for dinner on Friday and a few more at the Rendleman Home and B&B Saturday. Some made the day ride to Mokane for lunch on Saturday then we sat around Doug's and had a cookout, some live music, a bonfire, and nice conversation. Some did another day ride on Sunday and Cathy and I went into Hermann to check out Octoberfest, not too bad when we got there but started getting pretty busy by 1pm.
We may look at a different weekend for next year, one without the pilgrims and Octoberfest, and maybe a little warmer for the campers.

MidSouth from Rogersville, MO on 10/21/2014 9:41:14 AM:
Not only did we have a good time last weekend, we ended it with a donation of $243 to the Wounded Warrior Project in the name of "The Katy Regulars"!
