I rode the Katy Trail 2 years ago from Clinton to St.Charles. It was one of my favorite trips in life. There was beautiful scenery, wonderful places to eat along the way, friendly folk (even stopped and helped an older gentleman pick some morel mushrooms), I camped one night, stayed in a bed and breakfast the next and finished in St. Charles arriving in the dark under the glow of casino lights before going to have a beer at a local bar. The whole trip was magical laced with a real sense of accomplishment. So now I'm set to do it again. My only regrets are that the trails do not extend to Kansas City or Lake of the Ozarks that I know of, and they really should. I think if we could somehow connect these 3 great locations and maybe extend A Lake Ozark trail to Branson or Springfield we would find a massive increase in tourism. It would be quite amazing to spend an entire to weeks just biking our beautiful state of Missouri.
