We are wanting to take the railroad from Kirkwood Station to Sedalia and then pedal back. Can anyone estimate the mileage or time it will take to make that trip? I'm wanting to stop along the way so we're thinking 35 miles a day. Would we ride all the way to Machen and then figure out how to get to Kirkwood to pick up the car? Many thanks for any help here.

Use the Mileage Chart and Towns & Services links above to plan your daily rides. The Kirkwood station is about 15 miles from St. Charles, and you will be on busy streets if you want to ride there, I would call a cab. Here is a link to directions to the Kirkwood station. http://www.bikekatytrail.com/kirkwood.aspx

Thank-you! Is it really a cab or a van of some kind. I was wondering if they could carry a couple of bikes.

Arrangements must be made ahead of time. Click on Trip Planner above, select Shuttle, and then call around to the ones in the St. Charles area and let them know what your needs are.

The Locco House B&B in St Chuck will shuttle with a nights stay. Have never stayed there but they get good reviews and are pretty popular. They may be an option for you.
