I had a map that said there was camping in Mokane. The day I hiked in was their "World Fair", so I wondered through and asked one of the vendors about camping and he said no. I went to the market and asked the young lady behind the desk, who was very nice, she in turn asked the owner, who was rather unfriendly and told me and a couple other guys who'd biked in that there was no camping. The 3 of us were taken by how unfriendly she was. I got a snack and was rung up by the owner and it seemed like it might kill her to do it. I was kind of bummed I couldn't camp b/c the next place was another 8 to 10 miles and I wanted to see the tractor pull they were having later that night. Oh well, on a good note the store had a little bit of everything and a oouple tables to sit at and cool off a bit.

The Mokane Market is clean and well kept but my daughter and I did not get a warm welcome when we were there either.

We Mokanians need to have a town meeting and learn to treat trail riders better. Our world's fair went over great. Just hate to see our town treating anyone bad.
