My friends and I are biking from St. Charles to Augusta for the day. We very much want to go to Montelle winery. Can we ride our bikes from the Trail to the Winery? I see it is about 1.5 miles from the trail. NOTE We are experienced bikers at riding on roads. Thanks.

I like Montelle Winery, but I am not a big fan of biking there. Yes you can do it but it is on narrow twisty roads with lots of traffic. I would just as soon go to Augusta Winery myself. Or Mt. Pleasant. Montelle is great but not enough to get me out on that road.

I also love the view from Montelle's deck, but holy cow that is a climb on a bike and I think somewhat dangerous. Even Mt. Pleasant would require some to walk their bikes up the hills.
