We are planning a May ride to Rocheport and wanted to start in Pilot Grove. Is there a place to park and leave a vehicle overnight? If so, where? Any help would be appreciated!

There is a parking lot next to the trailhead in Pilot Grove. It's right in town just across the street from the grocery store. I've not left a vehicle there overnight, but would not hesitate in doing so.

Thanks so much! We will plan to leave the vehicles there. Much appreciated.

I know this is an old thread, but was it ok to park you vehicle at the trailhead? My wife and I will be riding the trail in October from Pilot Grove to St. Charles. Has anyone left your vehicle at this trailhead for several nights?

Pilot Grove is a pretty safe place. Trailhead is in the center of the town. You could call the local police though. Good camping there at the city park. Suggest you start in Sedalia, not much further, and take Amtrak back.
