Hoping to get over to ride Boonville-Hartsburg in the next week or so.

Has anyone ridden that stretch lately?

How's the trail? Wondering how hard packed it is or whether it has softened up over the winter with moisture/freeze/thaw, etc. Trying to figure out what bike/tires to use. Rode it in November with 28s and it was great but wondering if I should consider a knobbier 32 this time of year. (I prefer the narrower if possible.)

Any local information will be appreciated.

Thanks so much.

Rode Providence to Hindman Junction today (2/22/12), trail is dry and firm, they did spread new chat for a couple of hundred feet near Eagle Bluff Lookout. Calling for slight chance of light showers next couple of days, should not hurt too much.
