DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A CONNECTING ROUTE FROM THE WESTERN IOWA WABASH TRAIL TO THE KATY TRAIL. I AM THINKING ON JOINING THE KATY AT NEW FRANKLIN OR ROCHEPORT.

Ed, the Wabash Nature trail ends in Blanchard, MO. From there, it is about a 250 mile road ride to New Franklin, MO and the Katy Trail.

Ed, I would start with google maps. Use the bicycling option. It shows a pretty direct route of 239 miles, looks like not much traffic, but don't know what the shoulder situation would be along that route. I would think most of those rural roads will have little to no shoulders to ride on.

No guarantees, but I'd be apt to head South and West on MO-M, MO-C, and MO-B to the Lewis and Clark "Trail" and then follow it to Boonville.
