I have a Question we have a about 13 riders that we ride with on tuesday nights around town, we have talked about riding the Katy trail, what would be the best out and back ride. that will be fun and enjoyable, any help would be great.

Well, it kind of depends on how far you want to ride and what you want to see. The ride between Jeff City and Rocheport is scenic. You can take Clinton or Windsor to as far as you want to ride as well, but I can't attest to the scenery there.

is the trail hilly or mostly flat, I road from Cliton to winsor, I thought that was hilly. these are first time riders on the trail.

Check the Elevation Chart on this site. It is flat from Boonville to Machens, a few hills from Clinton to Boonville

Clinton to Sedalia is kind of boring. I most enjoy anywhere from Pilot Grove the Jefferson City, then east of Herman to the Treloar area.

Rocheport to Hartsburg is my favorite 25 miles.

Just returned from my first Katy ride. Boonville to Hartsburg would be the most enjoyable. Lots of Odd things to see with great photo choices. Hartsburg to Hermann was farm land for the most part.
