We planned to stop here on our third day of riding, which was a Monday. They closed at 2pm. We had to ride four additional miles to a grocery store down on Highway 19. Be prepared if coming through on a Monday...I am not sure if they close early on every Monday, but it was quite disheartening to see the place closed when we pushed hard to get to Rhineland to eat...

Consider yourself lucky. Many places are closed on Mondays along the trail.

Remember, a lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part. Or a crisis or a problem etc. You're disheartened because you let yourself down.

Yeah. And their food is fairly good too. But this happens all the time even tho this cafe is good about being open. Don't be too disappointed. It's all part of this trail's experience.

The simplest/best overall plan is to carry your own emegency/energy food, and then tank-up at whatever is open when you passby there. :)
