Folks from Gore are driving private cars and trucks on the Katy trail. (6-7-11)

Rider from Rolla, I'm not sure where Gore is, but I've learned this in the past month: When small county roads are flooded, people who live or work in the area are allowed to use the Katy Trail to drive around the flooded local roads. I encountered this in mid-June east of Hartsburg, when some small roads were flooded but the trail was not.

Makes sense to me. It's the opposite of the "share the road" mantra, but is our way of sharing.

Land owners can use the Katy trail for vehicles as they are not to be denied access to their property.
