we want to head to the trail this week. we have seen St Charles to ditzow. Wondering where you can see the river the most & the best bluff scenery. I can't ride to far before the old knee gives out, so i hate to waste my miles without great scenerey.
Thanks fo rany suggestions.

For a 10 mile ride you could park in Bluffton and ride up to Portland and then back. For a 20 mile ride a little closer to St.Louis (but not much) you could park in McKittrick and ride down to Bernheimer and back. Both have sections with the river right next to the trail.

The section from Rocheport eastward to down to Hartsburg is good for river views. There are even a number of places that you could literlly fall off into the river. Just east of Rocheport, there are many bluffs, & also a scenic lookout point that you can walk up to that is well worth the climb up the hillside.
