i stayed here on 10/11/22 cycling from New Franklin. A few blocks off of the trail spur over the river. No laundry machines on premises! My mistake for not checking ahead of time. Older but clean hotel. they let you take your bike to the room. easy walk to a drug store and restaurants.

I would recommend again if you don't need to launder cloths.

is the Capital Plaza hotel bike friendly? Can you take your bike to the room?

Best to call and speak with them about current policy.

A few years ago we left our tandem in a storeroom behind the front desk. That was much easier than taking it to our room. Their policy may have changed since then.

We did not love this place or this town. I guess it didn't help that we landed here on a Sunday and the town literally shuts down. There was absolutely nothing open except one restaurant. We thought staying in the city might have given us some things to do walking downtown in the evening. In hindsight I would have stayed in a B&B in North Jefferson. The hotel itself looked great when we walked in, but the pool was dirty with lots of hair in it and our bed had a large metal spring poking out that ended up scratching our two year old. The front desk was accommodating, but the first room they moved us to had a maintenance worker working on the toilet in the bathroom... We went and got another room and that was okay. The room was clean and they gave us a complimentary breakfast for our troubles, but again, I would probably stick to North Jefferson if I did it again.

We reserved the Katy Trail Package through the website and found it worthwhile. We appreciated being able to take our bikes up to our room, and we enjoyed the bountiful breakfast buffet. Excellent location -- walking to the State Capitol and Central Dairy. Be sure to see the Thomas Hart Benton murals at the Capitol.

These guys took my reservation but a month later called me and said they could not honor the reservation due to a group that wanted to reserve a large block of rooms. I would not trust any reservation you make here.

I'm not very thrilled with this place. I booked six months in advance. They called later to inform me that they were cancelling my reservation because they "mistakenly" booked us on a weekend when the whole hotel was reserved for an event. I can only assume they overbooked in case someone cancelled.

Its convenient and close to the trail and bridge but accommodations are not much. You haven't missed much. Down 50 has more hotels, Days Inn I believe, with more restaurants available.

Try the Baymont Inn downtown Jeff City. Easy access from the trail on the Greenway and across the pedestrian/bike bridge over the river. Hotel is older, but clean. Morning breakfast is standard fare, but includes waffles and hot scrambled eggs. Pretty good value for the mnoney.

The one across the road southward from the Capitol Plaza is good too.
